Fermentation Tank Classification

1, according to the growth and metabolism of microorganisms need to classify

Aerobic: antibiotics, enzymes, yeast, amino acids, vitamins and other products are conducted in aerobic fermentation tanks; need to stir strong ventilation, aims to improve oxygen mass transfer coefficient in fermentation broth. Anaerobic: acetone-butanol, alcohol, beer and lactic acid by anaerobic fermentation tanks. Do not need ventilation.

2, in accordance with the characteristics of fermentation equipment classification

Mechanical stirring fermentation tank with ventilation: including circulation, such as Wu-fermentation tanks, venturi tube fermentation tanks, as well as non-cyclic ventilation fermentation tank and suck the fermentation tanks and so on. Non-mechanical stirring fermentation tank with ventilation: including-loop airlift, liquid fermentation tank, as well as non-ladder and injection of cyclic fermentation tanks. The two types of fermentation is the use of different means to make fermentation tank of gas, solid and liquid mix to meet the needs of microbial growth and product formation of oxygen.

3, classified according to volume

500L is generally considered a laboratory fermenter; 500-5000L is the pilot fermenter 5000L above is a production-scale fermentor.
